Butterflies, and Ducks and Turtles and Cows… Oh My… c/debparadise 2009

I’M BAAAAACCKKK…

Hi Everyone.  Well… hmmm.  Where do I start.  I have had a big adventure.  I got to go on a long trip, see new things and travel around on very fun roads with curves, hills and all kinds of fun things for me.

I did have a small problem to begin with.  My brand new windshield got cracked.  OUCH!  I don’t understand why this happened… but it did.  My Moms is not happy.

Oh, you noticed… I called my mom/person “Moms”.  Well you did not offer me any other suggestions and so I just decided for myself.  Maybe that is the best thing anyway.  It is important to make decisions for yourself sometimes.  Anyway, I decided to call my mom/person “Moms” and my dad/person “Pops”.  (“Dads” just didn’t sound right).  So not they are Moms and Pops.

You would not believe all of the things I got to see on my trip.  We went to the country in middle Tennessee.  Moms went to a Circus, a Chinese Restaurant, a cute Coffee House and used book store and to Walmart.  We stopped at a little general store and she shopped for what… generals?  I heard her talking to someone that when a little town like this could have a Chinese Restaurant, a Health Food Store, and internet Coffee House PLUS a Walmart, then things are really not small town anymore.

She really liked the Coffee place and said that there was a very sweet woman that struck up a conversation about her Quan Yin necklace.  (Quan Yin was this very unselfish lady that helped people when she lived and now she is a Goddess that  helps people from above… kinda like a Saint, only better.) This lady was very drawn to see it and then was talking about miracles and paying it forward and all kinds of stuff.  Go figure…  Moms also bought a crystal book at this place and was very surprised to find it there.

I got to see butterflies and ducks and cows and wild turkeys.  Moms drove me on the grass up to the front door!  Imagine, I got to drive right up to the front door of the house we stayed in… that was funny.  I also got to splash in puddles and even drive in some mud.  Every night it was cold and I was staying outside.  And in the morning when my Moms would get in, my crack in the windshield had grown a little bigger.  So one day, a very nice lady came out and said a prayer over me and splashed a little water on me.  Then I felt really good.  And the crack didn’t grow any bigger.  My Moms said that I am blessed.  I am glad she said it, but I knew it already.

My Pops took pictures of me getting packed.  He wanted to show just how much stuff I could carry.  We got a lot of things in me… enough stuff for two ladies to stay a week, plus all of their meditation pillows and stuff, plus my Moms and her friend, with a little room left over.  I am waiting for my Pops to send me the pictures so I can show you, but he hasn’t yet.  When I get the pictures, I will post them so you can see.  I am pretty amazing when you think about it.

On the way back I carried all of that stuff and some bamboo, and some flowers and a TURTLE!  But the turtle was passed away.  Moms’ friend was taking it home to honor it and maybe make it into a rattle or something.  So they froze it so it wouldn’t stink me up.  I am kinda glad they did that.  I really don’t want to stink.

Ok, well I’ll see if my Moms will post a couple of the pictures from the trip.  Then we will see about what is the next big adventure.

(p.s.  I am trying to figure out what to be for Halloween)  Wait and see!

RETREAT IS NOT SURRENDER

Wow, has it been a wet and rainy few week!  I am having fun running through rain puddles and splishy splashing around town.  But I feel bad that some of my friends have gotten flooded and ruined with all of this water.  I hope that we will have clear days and good Fall weather following all of this watery weather!

I am so excited to be going on Retreat!  Not sure what that is, but it sounds really fun.  Curvy roads, country scenery and a whole week to explore will be a new adventure for me.  My mom/person is having a friend come to ride with her so they will be having this adventure together with me.  AND I get to show off how much I can carry in my cargo area.  They are going to be real surprised.  (I saw my m/person’s pile so I know how much she is taking.)  If her friends pile is have as big, I will be full to the top!.  But I can handle it.  I know I can.

Today, we went for a ride along the Crest.  There was fog and rain and puddles and leaves blown across the road and everything was so colorful and gray at the same time.  I saw a yellow MINI and we waved at each other.  Sometime’s other MINI persons wave and sometimes they don’t. I really don’t know why, but I like it when my mom/person waves and she does, too.  I think that is kinda what being a MINI person is all about.  So I hope that more MINI people will wave back when we wave at them.  Sometimes my person flashes the lights at other MINIs and that feels like I am winking at them.  So if I flash my lights at you, remember to wink back, OK?

I need to come up with a name for my mom/person and my dad person… these names just are kind dumb.  Hmmm… what should I call them… that might take some thought.  If you have any ideas, I would like to hear some nice ones.  If you are gonna be dumb or mean, tho, please don’t tell me.  It isn’t very MINI like.  If you don’t have something nice to say, please just keep it to yourself.

Well, I am so excited to be going on a road trip.  Can’t wait to see what it is like up there in Tennesse.  Maybe I can send you a thought from the road… if not, I will tell you about it when we get back!

Road Trip to the HOT A.T.L.

Well, we got here alright, and I did really great!  I got loaded up with artwork and suitcases and pillows and everything needed to go see my first home.  Don’t let anyone tell you that I can’t hold a lot of stuff, because I can.  My daddy/person took some pics of me and my mom/person getting ready to go and that will prove it!

Now I am back at the dealership gettin’ my windshield replaced and that is all good, too.  Tomorrow we will hit the road back to the ‘Ham and finally be home and all put back together again.

For now, watch the video that came for us today.  It made my person cry because he was so romantic at the very end.  Well, that’s all for today.  DON”T PARK IN A TOW ZONE TODAY!

Home again Home again Jiggity, Jig

Well Hi.  This is MINIPearl speaking.  Just making that clear since my mom/person spoke for me while I was gone.

I am really glad to be back from that place.  Don’t get me wrong or anything, they were real nice to me, but it is just nice to be back with my folks.  Jimbo was a real nice guy, btw.  He made sure they took good care of me and gave me some “extra Love”.  When I came around the front of the shop, I was shiny and clean and sparkling!

Listen, those guys work really hard.  And they don’t always get appreciated.  But I can tell you they really do care about making us look as good as we used to.  They take pride in their work.

It was a little strange having part of my face replaced.  Just not sure why all of this happened, but really glad that my boink is fixed and my face is put back together.  Actually, now I am having my windshield replaced, as well, and let me tell you, that is really weird.  But, when it is all over, I know that I will be whole and happy and beautiful, so it will all be worth it!   I am posting a pic of me fresh out of the shop so you can see just how great a job they did!  Happy Motoring, all ya’ll!

Anticipation

MINIPearl has been gone for 3 days.  I have not heard whether or not she will be coming home today or not.

In the days she has been gone, my husband’s car also went down, so we have been skinny on transportation!  AHHH!

Well, I do not know how MINIPearl is doing or what she thinks, today.  But I am quite sure that she will have lots to say about her experience and life in general when she gets back.

She did ask me about the Cash for Klunkers program, though.  She wondered why all of those other cars had to be killed.  She was happy that people got help to get new cars, who wanted them.  But it really made her sad to see that those with a little age on them, just weren’t valued and in fact were “put down”.

Her Question… How is that green?  Creating all that waste and more landfill with crushed cars… denying those cars the opportunity to live out full and productive lives?  Was it really so important to just KILL THEM?  Will the amount of gas saved really balance out what has been lost?  Will is really justify the huge expenditure of money and loss of good, servicable vehicles to squeeze out a few more miles per gallon?  Unnecessary destruction… it just feels wrong.

I decided to wait and post this when MINIPearl was away.  She thinks deeply about these things and I don’t want her to be distracted from FUN by these concerns when she returns.  After all, this is a holiday weekend… lots of fun in store for her… we will get out and follow her little red (and newly repaired) nose wherever it leads!  HAPPY MOTORING!
